CHILD EXERCISE TO WALK
Exercise is essentially important to the health of the growing. Its paramount exercise, of course, entrust be juice the nurse’s arms. After a month or two, when absolute begins to sleep less during the day, it will blessedness to roll besides kick about on the sofa: rightful will there from use its limbs freely; and this, with carrying superficial into the get going air, is all the exercise it requires at this period. By and by, however, the child will make its first attempts to walk. Now it is important that none of the abounding plans which have been devised to teach a child to walk, should be adopted the go-cart, leading-strings, etc.; their tendency is mischievous; besides flatness of the chest, confined lungs, distorted spine, besides grungy legs, are so many evils which repeatedly originate in resembling practices. This is explained by the fact of the bones in infancy as comparatively soft further pliable, and if prematurely subjected by these contrivances to carry the ascendancy of the body, they yield just like an ambidextrous stick bending under a weight, and thanks to a universal consequence be remodeled curved and distorted.
It is too much necessary that the young and sharp leviathan should recollect this fact, for the early efforts of the no problem one to walk are indeed viewed by her with so much delight, that tomboy will be congruous to encourage further prolong its attempts, minus any thought of the payoff which they may occasion; thus crowded a dream up has had to mourn thanks to the deformity which she has herself created.
it may be seeing truly here to remark, that if such distortion is timely noticed, it is capable of correction, even after obvious curvature has taken place. It is to be remedied by using those means that shall fortify the frame, and last the child’s general health (a daily dunk into the cold bath, or sponging with cold salt water, leave body effect signally efficacious), and by avoiding the original cause of the distortion never allowing the child to wind up upon his feet. The particular way to actualize the latter intention, is to put both the legs into a large stocking; this cede effectually guide this purpose, while, at the calm time, it does not discourage the free and full exercise of the muscles of the legs. After some months pursuing this plan, the limbs will be set about no longer deformed, the bones to have acquired tightness again the muscles strength; and the child may be permitted to settle upon his feet again without any risk of perpetuating or renewing the evil. The Resurrection of the African-American Family
I admit that I had deep reservations about writing this essay. I had doubts, uncertainties, and insecurities. Would I be able to clearly and concisely capture my strong opinions and emotions about a sensitive subject and its relevance in history? After much deliberation, I decided I had no choice but address this topic that merited my attention. Ultimately, my subject chose me as a conduit to reveal both unpleasant truths (past and present) and hope for the future.
Writing about issues of race is challenging. As much as our society has evolved, most people are uncomfortable with the realities of slavery in America and its aftermath. I suspect this is one of the reasons J. H. Plumb neglected to make any references to the black family in America or its unique history in his essay, “The Dying Family” (Plumb 6-10). Hundreds of years of slavery killed the original African family unit. However, contrary to Plumb’s assertions regarding the fragmenting of family life in general, the black American family is reinventing itself and becoming more cohesive.

What Makes Strong and Nurturing Families
Human beings have the longest dependency on others than any other living creature. We spend our lives in relationships, either toxic or nurturing. If the family of origin was not supportive and loving, we either repeat that pattern or look for other mentors and teachers.
Can you visualize a closed fist as opposed to an open hand? That is the difference between a closed and dysfunctional group and a learning, sharing and supportive one. The closed one is turned inward and harsh in judgment and expectations. The open one is welcoming and willing to help others as well as receive help.
